Moving day stress
- Moving day is always stressful. An early start is always a good idea as the day can be long and exhausting! If you are hiring a van try and pick it up the night before.
- Make sure your mobile phone is fully charged. Make some sandwiches and drinks as you may not get time to stop for lunch.
Survival Box
- Keep a survival box somewhere safe which has got all your essentials in. Also make sure all your valuable and sentimental items are somewhere safe so they don’t get lost in the unit.
- Many hands make lighter work. Don’t underestimate the task. You may want to do the move yourself to save money but if not consider getting professional removers to do the job.
Watch the weather
- Watch the weather forecast; moving is always best done on a dry day. This is especially important if you are going into a shipping container as there is very little air movement in a container. If your stuff gets wet when you are moving in pop into the office and we can try and help find a solution.
- Make a note or create an inventory of everything as it goes into the unit so you can easily locate it in the future. Make sure all the boxes are labelled.
Save time on the day
- Make sure you have dismantled all the flatpack furniture ahead of the move this will save you a huge amount of time on the day.
- Finally don’t panic when you see the amount of stuff you have and the size of the unit, the units whatever the size always take far more than you think they will. 😊
